    Every piece in the B.Living collection is handcrafted by skilled artisans in Indonesia. From stunning rattan pendant lights to sturdy hardwood stools, each item is brought to life through the hands of talented craftsmen. What unites all our products is a commitment to natural materials, exquisite craftsmanship, and Scandinavian design.

    Launched in early 2020, our collection offers Finland\u2019s largest selection of rattan pendant lights and wooden stump stools.     We ship our products from our warehouse to customers across Finland and throughout Europe. Our clientele includes private customers, architectural and interior design firms, as well as a select group of retailers across Finland.<\/span><\/p>

    B.Living is owned and led by Silja Juonala, who spent over a decade creating beautiful homes through her former interior design company, Bellava.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    More than ten years ago, I bought my first hand-carved wooden stump stool from a local carpenter in Finland. I instantly fell in love with its simple yet elegant design and the way the oak developed beautiful natural cracks as it aged. To this day, it remains one of my absolute favorite pieces of furniture\u2014so unique, so authentic.

    Fast forward to 2018, work took our family to Melbourne, Australia. Living on the other side of the world sparked my creativity, and I became fascinated by the local approach to building, decorating, and crafting personal, character-filled homes. I started to see new possibilities for the square stump stool I had back in Finland\u2014how it could evolve into something even more special. When I discovered a potential manufacturer in Indonesia, everything clicked. My imagination took off, and gradually, a collection of wooden furniture and rattan pendant lights began to take shape.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    By late 2018, our time in Australia was drawing to a close. After months of negotiations, our collaboration with Indonesian craftsmen had begun to take shape, resulting in the first wooden stool prototypes. At the same time, we were searching for high-quality manufacturers of rattan pendant lights in rural Indonesia.

    As our family returned to Finland in March 2019, the first prototypes embarked on their own journey from Indonesia to Raisio. Many fond memories of our time in Australia live on in our product names, which are inspired by Australian Aboriginal languages. Each name carries a meaningful connection, often rooted in nature.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

    Knowing the origins of our products is essential to us. Visiting workshops in Indonesia has been a key part of B.Living\u2019s sourcing process, allowing us to connect with the talented artisans behind our pieces and collaborate on future designs. It\u2019s always a pleasure to meet the skilled craftspeople who bring our ideas to life. But our commitment goes beyond just knowing where our products come from\u2014we also strive to support micro-entrepreneurs in Indonesia, helping to improve the wellbeing of entire communities.<\/p>\n

    At B.Living, global equity and equality are at the heart of our business philosophy. Our vision is to collaborate across geographical boundaries, creating opportunities and livelihoods for people regardless of their background. It\u2019s incredible to think that our collection has already provided work for more than a dozen craftsmen in Indonesia, bringing prosperity not only to their families but to their wider communities and the local environment as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

    I have deep respect and admiration for the exceptional skill and dedication of these artisans, who refine each detail to perfection, time and time again. Seamless and open communication is key. When designing new products, it\u2019s essential that we have direct contact with the people in the workshops\u2014after all, handcrafted pieces carry the unique imprint of their maker. That\u2019s why I believe in speaking to every artisan personally, rather than seeing them as just names in an email thread.<\/p>\n
