All our products are hand-made in Indonesia by skilled local artisans, most of them micro entrepreneurs. Some of them employ a few people in their workshops. QUICK CARE INSTRUCTIONS<\/h4>

1. Give your stool time to dry properly and age gracefully.<\/p>

2. The drying process can be slow. Don\u2019t place the stool on a delicate surface, such as a light carpet.<\/p>

3. For a fresh new look an unfinished wood surface may be gently sanded from time to time.<\/p>

4. Oil-waxed surfaces can be cleaned with a damp cloth. You can apply another coat of oil wax if necessary.<\/p>

About suar wood<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

All our wooden stools and interior design items are made from suar wood. Originally a tree native to South America, suar now grows in many parts of the world. It was introduced to Indonesia as a plantation tree. Suar is a fast-growing tree and can reach a height of 25 metres. Unlike teak, suar is not an endangered wood species. It is a great material for furniture thanks to its durability and the rich colour and beautiful grain of the heartwood.\u00a0<\/p>

Solid wood furniture such as our stump stools and side tables require a long drying time. Sometimes the drying process of our products may not be complete when they are delivered, which is why the product appearance may change over time.\u00a0 As the wood dries, cracks almost always appear, adding a unique touch and personality to each item.\u00a0\u00a0 Each product is unique, and the product images are for reference only.<\/p>

All our wooden stools and side tables are delivered with adhesive plastic or felt pads at the bottom to allow the product to dry properly.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

How to take care of your unique stool<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Wooden stumps typically crackle as they dry. To allow this unique piece of furniture to age slowly and gracefully, keep it out of direct sunlight.<\/p>

Small stains can be easily removed with fine sandpaper (grit size 240). Wipe off the dust with a dry microfibre cloth.<\/p>

Use a damp cloth to clean oil-waxed black surfaces. If you need to re-wax an oil-waxed surface, we recommend a gentle brush with sandpaper first. Sometimes cracks may deepen or appear after the initial surface treatment. If you don\u2019t like the look of the cracks, you can easily disguise them with some black oil wax.<\/p>

Keep the stool away from constant exposure to humidity, such as washrooms, or outdoors if uncovered. Over time, natural untreated suar slowly turns grey.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

About rattan<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

With a few exceptions, all products in our pendant light collection are made from rattan. Rattan is a leaf-climbing palm that grows in the closed-canopy old-growth tropical forests of Southeast Asia and in the tropical parts of Africa and Australasia. Plants produce a durable cane with a diameter of 2-5 centimetres and stems reaching to over 100 metres.<\/p>

Rattan is the name for roughly 600 species of climbing palms. The most common of these is Calamus, which is typically found in Asia. Indonesia accounts for about 70% of the world\u2019s rattan plants.<\/p>

Rattan can be painted like wood. It is a relatively light material, and therefore suitable for extra-large lamp shades.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

How to take care of your rattan beauty<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Rattan pendants are easy to clean: gentle vacuuming is all you need. Remove any stains with a damp cloth.<\/p>

In its natural habitat, tropical rain forest, rattan is used to getting rained on, so it won\u2019t mind a quick shower every once in a while. If you do shower your lamp shade, remember to remove the bulb and detach it from the suspension bracket. After showering, leave it to dry properly before reinstalling. Note: This only applies to natural, unpainted rattan.<\/p>

Rattan grows in humid conditions and therefore suffers if placed in direct sunlight or near a heat source such as a fireplace.<\/p>

In the summer, you can hang your rattan pendant outside, for instance on a covered deck. However, we recommend that you move your pendant indoors for humid winter months.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
